The EPA misrepresented and endorsed a home in Gold Hill Mesa as LEED energy efficient, despite it being situated on an un-engineered 100-year-old tailings impoundment containing cyanide slurry.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plays a crucial role alongside the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in overseeing environmental issues and stability concerns. Governor Polis, Senator Bennett, Senator Hickenlooper, and Attorney General Phil Weiser should collaborate with local entities, including the City of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities, to ensure that all misrepresentations and concerns, particularly those related to Gold Hill Mesa, are addressed.

Unfortunately I bought a house in Golden Hell and I regret that fateful decision which cost me years of litigation and the loss of a decade of my life. Testing never proved the house to be - LEED certified, EnergyStar, WaterSense, one of a kind, net zero or energy saving in any way.
Governor Polis, Senator Bennett and Senator Hickenlooper would likely agree that such misrepresentations should never be made.
EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) are three letters people trust and my generation grew up trusting that agency. However, the EPA was involved in fraud in the inducement over a showcased home we bought in Colorado Springs, CO. Their representation of material fact in their widely publicized ads and in person marketing events was knowingly false and intentionally made to induce us and other home buyers to buy this one of a kind energy saving home- LEED certified, Energy Star and WaterSense in this new development. We believed their representations that the home met extraordinary high standards of efficiency, performance and verification. However, the home was never vetted by EPA Region 8 employees and not one prerequisite for LEED for Homes was met.
